Founder and Director
Mark is highly motivated and successful individual with a wide range of expertise and experience. The core of Mark’s career has been focused on impacting policy and political decisions through high quality research. But, more than that, what motivates Mark is a desire to lead colleagues to develop, grow business in new areas and with new clients and of course his love of communicating analysis and advice clearly and effectively.
Mark founded Mark Diffley Consultancy and Research in 2017 and within 12 months the company had grown to become a leader in consultancy and research in Scotland, with new team members and a growing bank of skilled associates.
Sanah Saeed Zubairi
Senior Research Manager
Sanah is an experienced research professional skilled in a range of quantitative and qualitative techniques.
Since graduating with an MA in Sociology and Politics from the University of Edinburgh, Sanah has successfully delivered over fifty research projects for clients in both the public and private sector.
She is adept in designing and delivering bespoke research studies that directly influence policy and decision making.
Sanah has an MA in Sociology and Politics from The University of Edinburgh

Administration and Marketing Support
Claire has over 10 years of administration, marketing and business management experience, working in arts venues throughout the UK before moving into the commercial trade insustry.
Claire joined Mark Diffley Consultancy and Research in January 2018 and undertakes the majority of administration tasks on our quantitative and qualitative projects.
Claire has a a BA/Hons in English Literature and a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts and Cultural Management.
Louise is an Edinburgh-based copywriter, working with public and third sector organisations who want to communicate important things without the jargon and policy-speak.
Prior to founding The Copy Prescription in June 2017, Louise spent ten years working for the Scottish Government in a range of policy, strategy and management roles across a wide range of policy areas, including health, justice and constitution.
Louise has a Masters in Health Policy from Imperial College London.
Kirsty Evans is a qualitative research specialist with over 20 years’ experience in exploring people’s thoughts and feelings about anything and everything for brands and clients such as Nokia, Virgin Atlantic, Listerine, Johnson’s Baby, Calpol, NHS Education for Scotland and Caledonian MacBrayne.
She works up and down the UK, as well as internationally, to help clients better understand the worlds of their audiences and what they really think about issues, brands and messages, so that they can make better, more informed decisions.
